Fashionistable

Next up in our series of interviews is Dvora, recommended by David from The Nyanzi Report. Enjoy her insights and keep her must have item top of mind; confidence with a smile.

Name: Dvora
Blog: Fashionistable
Country: United Kingdom – but in Amsterdam from now to the end of the year.
Style: Anything that makes the person stand apart.  It can even be the energy they are emitting when I/they walk past. The turn of a head. Attitude and confidence or shyness but with a certain poise.
Favorite item: I love/admire people who do vintage well. Mainly as I wouldn’t have a clue where to start with it.
Trend forecast: Whatever catches my eye no matter the trend. In these dull winter months a pop of colour will always make me happy.

What/who is your inspiration, and why?
There are a lot of photographers I admire but I guess my two favourites would be Norman Parkinson and Tim Walker. Parkinson for the timeless style and grace he brought to his shots and Tim Walker for his amazing imagination, his colour and inventiveness.

Do you have a speciality fashionwise, and what is this?
Street Style Photography.

What are your ambitions within the fashion industry?
For people to like my work. Everything will come from that.

What is your uniqueness compared to other fashion bloggers?
I am originally from Ireland and like any good Irish woman or man we like to tell a story. I certainly am no exception here. So when I photograph someone I like to ask them a few questions so I can tell their story. This is more difficult during the fashion weeks but easy on a regular day to day basis. I find most people are very generous with their time and stories.

Do you have a favorite color right now, and how to combine it?
I have a lot of black in my wardrobe but I do like to put colour around it. Today I am wearing black, white and red.

What item is a must have right now, and how to wear this?
Confidence with a smile. Wear it however it suits you best. Any way you wear it makes you attractive to everybody.

Name your 3 favorite bloggers, and why they are your favorites?
This is a hard one as I like more than 3 – I also like the other 2 David mentioned – OK, OK.

Rosalind from Clothes, Cameras and Coffee
Vanessa Jackman
Old Cow from Worship at the House of Blues.

They are 3 interesting women whose outlook on life I really enjoy.

Which fashion blogger do you want us to interview for next week, and what question do you want answered (give us one question we should ask this person)?
Rosalind from Clothes Cameras and Coffee.
Question: Which historical figure do you most admire?

And the question from David; What makes some one stand out street style wise?
I think I have answered this already in the style question  -Anything that makes the person stand apart.  It can even be the energy they are emitting when I/they walk past. The turn of a head. Attitude and confidence or shyness but with a certain poise.
